Here you’ll find a range of herbal products made up of tried and tested heirloom recipes and herbal formulations. The majority of items in the shop are hand made in small batches, others are sourced from specialist herbal suppliers. Every single product has been created by myself or by a fellow herbalist who’s working hard to keep our botanical traditions alive and well. I endeavour to supply wild-crafted or organic products whenever possible. By purchasing from Alchemilla, you’re directly supporting small batch herbalists to continue their work against a backdrop of increasingly mass manufactured health and wellness products.

For information about postage and our local collection service, please refer to the relevant section at the bottom of this page.

Herbs used in prescription tinctures are sourced from organic and ethical growers. At present prescription tinctures are only available to customers who are registered with the practice. Please send an email to sarah@alchemilla.co to be added to the waiting list.

Below is a small range of “over the counter” preparations which can be purchased without the need for an in depth consultation.

However – please be aware that some GP prescribed medications may interact with herbs. Always check with your health care practitioner before taking any supplement or herbal product if you have ongoing medical concerns.

Herb store 2

As a herbalist and wild-crafter, the wellbeing of my customers and the planet is of the utmost importance. Endeavouring to operate an environmentally friendly business is important in simple and complex ways.

We all know about the horrible impact the use of plastics is having on our world and on our health. With this in mind, I do my best to package all products in high quality, re-useable, recyclable glass containers. However, as breakages can happen, larger products (such as 250 ml sausage tree cream) are currently sent out in recyclable plastic bottles.

All customer orders are dispatched in eco-friendly cardboard, and recycled paper packaging from goods that come into the dispensary. On the odd occasion bubble wrap is used (this only happens with products that are particularly vulnerable to breakage,) this is always sourced from goods delivered to the apothecary, or has been donated to me by local businesses (thank you to The Good Lyfe plastic free store here in Newquay, and the ever supportive Sprout Health foods.)

It’s really important for me to offer eco-friendly packaging that protects your goods from damage while still keeping costs down. Packaging is designed to protect your goods and be practical and environmentally friendly. With this in mind, please be aware that your goods may on occasion arrive in recycled cardboard boxes!

I admit that my current situation is far from perfect, but I’m fully committed to continuing to search for greener solutions.

Some of the herbal products listed in the shop are manufactured in premises where nuts, dairy products and other allergens are handled. This means that unfortunately I cannot guarantee that even products that do not contain nut oils etc are suitable for people with severe allergies. Products that do contain nut oils are clearly labelled, both on the product packaging and in the catalogue listing. Please check the ingredients list before making your purchase.

It’s very important to me that my customers have confidence in herbal medicine. If you’re at all unsure about the suitability of any of my products, or have a question about any of the ingredients, please feel free to get in touch via email – sarah@alchemilla.co and I’ll do my very best to answer your query.

Unfortunately, due to increased carriage charges and packaging costs, standard p&p charges for all UK orders are £4.99. Goods are sent via second class post.

Depending on your location, all overseas orders under 1kg are sent via the Royal Mail International Tracked and Signed Service, Parcel Force Worldwide Courier Service, or DPD International Courier Service.  Goods are usually delivered between 3 and 7 working days. Tracking information will be sent via email once your parcel is on its way.

Please note that orders over 1kg are sent via the Royal Mail International Economy shipping service and can take up to 6 weeks to arrive. This service does not include insurance for lost or damaged goods, and is not tracked. All customers ordering goods that weigh over 1kg will be sent an email with an option to upgrade to a faster delivery service should they so wish.

Customers in the USA who require faster shipping and order turn around times can now place an order for sausage tree cream via my international supplier. Please contact Ashton at www.sausagetreelotion.com for more information.

Due to leaving the European Union and the complex VAT issues surrounding importing and exporting to the EU, as of 1st JULY 2021 I have reluctantly made the decision to cease sending all orders to the EU. As such, it is with deep regret that I have to say that I am no longer able to post to European countries outside Britain.

International shipping costs are charged as follows:

  • Southern Ireland – £12.50
  • USA – £25.00
  • Australia & Rest of World – £30

I aim to post all orders within 24 hours, however, as many products are hand made, this may not always be possible during busy periods. Should there be any delay in getting your goods out to you, I will always inform you via email so you can be completely sure of the time frame in which to expect your delivery.

Every effort is made to ensure your goods arrive in a timely fashion and as described. In the rare event that a parcel does not arrive or is damaged in transit, replacement goods will be sent out with no additional charge.

I offer a pick up service for customers who wish to save on postage and who live locally (within the TR7 / 8 postcode area.) Unless the order is a specialist item, most requests placed before 12 noon will be available for collection from Newquay on the next day. Choose the “local pick-up” option when placing your order, and you’ll receive an email confirmation about when and where to collect.

All orders come with a side order of free, friendly advice, so please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you’re unsure about how to use a product, or if it’s going to be helpful for you. Unfortunately, in the interest of hygiene I’m currently unable to accept returns for the products listed unless there is a breakage in transit. Please refer to the full terms and conditions for details before you make your purchase.

If you’ve tried any of my products and would like to leave an honest review, please feel free to add any comments in the accompanying review section. Your feedback is valued and always put to good use to help improve my “made with love” products and services.
