Here at Alchemilla Apothecary, we offer a range of herbal products made up of tried and tested heirloom recipes and exotic herbal formulations gathered from around the world. Many of the products in our shop are manufactured by hand in small batches. Some are sourced from specialist herbal suppliers. Every product we stock has been created by us here at Alchemilla, or by a fellow herbalist who’s working hard to keep our botanical traditions alive and well somewhere in the world. We endeavour to source wild-crafted or organic products whenever possible. By purchasing from Alchemilla, you’re directly supporting small batch herbalists to continue their work against a backdrop of increasingly mass manufactured health and wellness products.

Our range of skin care products is specially formulated by practicing herbalists. These high grade products are manufactured in small batches, and contain active plant ingredients traditionally used to help with a range of common skin conditions.


A tincture is an alcohol based plant extract. This method of preparation means that the active ingredients are in bio available liquid form. They’re easy to take, act quickly to get into the system, and have a longer shelf life than fresh herbs.

Here at the apothecary we stock a range of artisan tinctures, many of which are made on the premises from produce sourced from local organic growers. We also stock a small range of rare plant extracts that are not listed in the catalogue. In addition to the products in the dispensary, we also offer a bespoke tincturing service for people looking to create medicines from plants they’ve grown themselves. An herbal tisane is a fragrant blend of specially chosen dried herbs that can be drunk freely as a tea, used as a decorative pot-pourri, added to a sensual bath or used as a luxurious steam. Each of the following blends is multi functional, providing an uplifting experience whichever way you choose to use them.


As herbalists and wild-crafters, the wellbeing of our customers and the planet is of the utmost importance. We all know about the horrible impact the use of plastics is having on our environment and our health. With this in mind, we endeavour to package all products in high quality, re-useable, recyclable glass containers. However, as breakages can happen, larger products (250 ml sausage tree cream and customer prescriptions) are sent out in recyclable plastic bottles. We’re working to find a  better solution, but due to the ongoing global situation, product packaging (particularly pump dispensers) are becoming increasingly expensive and difficult to source.

To offset this problem, every product is sent out in re-cycled bubble wrap or paper that has come into the apothecary from goods delivered to us, or donated by local businesses (thank you to The Good Lyfe plastic free store here in Newquay, and the ever supportive Sprout Health foods.) We’re currently looking at sourcing alternative eco-friendly packaging that protects your goods from damage, while still keeping costs down and also being kind to the environment. Watch this space.


Some of the artisan products listed in the shop are manufactured in premises where nuts are handled. Unfortunately we cannot guarantee that even products that do not contain nut oils are suitable for people with severe allergies. Products that do contain nut oils are clearly labelled, both on the product packaging and in the catalogue listing.

It’s very important that our customers have confidence in herbal medicine. Standard p&p charges for all UK orders are £4.99.


Depending on your location, all overseas orders under 1kg are sent via the Royal Mail International Tracked and Signed Service, Parcel Force Worldwide Courier Service, or DPD International Courier Service.  Goods are usually delivered between 3 and 7 working days. Tracking information will be sent via email once your parcel is on its way.

Please note that orders over 1kg are sent via the Royal Mail International Economy shipping service and can take up to 6 weeks to arrive. This service does not include insurance for lost or damaged goods, and is not tracked. All customers ordering goods that weigh over 1kg will be sent an email with an option to upgrade to a faster delivery service should they so wish.

International shipping costs are charged as follows:

  • Europe – £12.50
  • USA – £22.50
  • Rest of World – £25

We aim to post all orders within 24 hours, however, as many products are hand made, this may not always be possible during busy periods. Should there be any delay in getting your goods out to you, we will always inform you via email so you can be completely sure of the time frame in which to expect your delivery.


All orders come with a side order of free, friendly advice, so please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you’re unsure about how to use a product, or if it’s going to be helpful for you. Unfortunately, in the interest of hygiene we’re currently unable to accept returns for the products listed unless there is a breakage or default.
